Superman is a 1978 American superhero film directed by Richard Donner, based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film stars Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman, Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor. The film tells the origin story of Superman, from his birth on the planet Krypton to his life as a reporter for the Daily Planet in Metropolis.

The film was produced by Alexander Salkind, Ilya Salkind, and Pierre Spengler, with a screenplay by Mario Puzo, David Newman, Leslie Newman, and Robert Benton. The film was released on December 15, 1978, and was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $300 million worldwide. It was nominated for three Academy Awards, winning one for Best Visual Effects.

Superman's success led to three sequels, Superman II, III, and IV: The Quest for Peace. The film also spawned a franchise of TV shows, cartoons, and comics. Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Superman is widely regarded as one of the best performances of the character, and the film is considered a classic of the superhero genre. The film's success also paved the way for other superhero films, including Batman and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This is a man who knows about breaking the rules and now the President's daughter is imprisoned in space, he is the best chance to find her and free her. Seems the prison, which is located deep in space, has been taken over by prisoners and there is a Lock-Out in progress.iolent inmates seem to have the upper edge but Snow is determined to free the young woman and gain his freedom at the same time. Snow is portrayed by Guy Pearce from Rules of Engagement and The Hurt Locker is one mean "good guy" who knows all about breaking the rules. He goes after Emillie Warnock (Maggie Grace from Malice in Wonderland and TV series Lost) who is the captured daughter of the U.S. President. What happens next is violence and mayhem at its best and film maker Luc Besson seems to have successfully graduated from "epic" films to action packed adventure.

Gwen Stacy, Peter's love interest, is played by Emma Stone of Paper Man, Zombieland). Rhys Ifans (Passion Play, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1) has an interesting role in Spider-Man as scientist Dr. Curt Conners, a man with a missing arm who tries to regenerate it by taking lizard serum and ends up becoming some sort of "reptilian humanoid" monster.he Amazing Spider-Man 3D also stars Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary, and C. Thomas Howell.
