Killing Them Softly is loosely based on George V. Higgins novel Cogan's Trade which he wrote in the period of time 1972 – 1974, when he worked as lawyer, specializing in crime processes involving mafia complicity. This fact leads us to believe that he knows a lot about the shady inside world of gangster's "paradise" which served as a perfectly sharpened background for Andrew Dominik's movie. Filmed for that point in post-Katrina New Orleans Killing Them Softly immerses us in the abyss of despair and hopelessness which enveloped everyone's minds and souls of in America, regardless of occupation – even for thorough-paced gangster – it's time to think about what's wrong with this world. The movie was nominated for the Palme d'Or at 65th Cannes Film Festival in 2012.

A murder ring, consisting of four Southern Australian men, were convicted of murdering at least twelve people between 1991 and 1999. They used knives, rope, as well as a double barreled shotgun to kill then sawed some bodies up, stuffed them into barrels and added acid to dissolve the evidence. It's difficult to imagine a more heinous group of humans who tortured and then killed others for their social security and pension money or simply because they didn't like their way of life. Some of the victims were apparently gay or obese or even drug users and were known by their murderers. Most of the bodies were stored in an old bank building in Snowtown and a few more were found buried in a Salibury North backyard. John Justin Bunting, a psychopathic killer, was the apparent leader of the group and has been sentenced to multiple life terms. The other members of the "death squad" include Robert Joe Wagner who allowed Bunting to talk him into participating in the murder spree. Also Mark Ray Haydon, who helped dispose of the bodies and James Spyridon Vlassakis who, along with his half brother and his mother, were found guilty of torturing and murdering several of the victims. The film is made even more gruesome by the fact it is based on fact!

Men will do just about anything possible to keep Norris and his beautiful new companion Elise (played by Emily Blunt) from becoming close. Norris (Matt Damon) who is the winning contender for a U.S. Senate seat needs to decide how much he wants her or be placed in the hands of Fate. tory line is based loosely on a short story (Adjustment Team) written by Philip K. Dick and is action packed from the opening scenes. Filmed in Manhattan, the movie takes full advantage of the sights and sounds of an active city where politics takes top billing. Elise is a ballet dancer who may be caught up in the intrigue or a part of it. The Adjustment Bureau seems to be determined to keep her and her rising star politician from romantic involvement… but why? Filled with car chases, crashes, and mystery, this 2011 movie is one to experience and enjoy.
