"Lola" is a 1981 drama film directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. The movie is set in post-World War II Germany and tells the story of Lola, a young and ambitious cabaret singer who dreams of becoming a famous actress. She becomes involved with a powerful businessman, Schuckert, who helps her career but also leads her down a path of corruption and compromise.

The movie is a subject of criticism concerning the facts that the major sponsor of its production is Abu Dhabi Media, which is totally owned by United Arab Emirates. It's believed that due to this sponsorship, the film puts shale fracking being described in the movie in a bad light, as it significantly increased the oil-producing capabilities of USA and reduced the oil import from UAE. Nevertheless, Promised Land allows us to enjoy brilliant play of Matt Damon, which is considered to be as "top-level" as it was in The Adjustment Bureau, True Grit and The Informant!

It's not a surprise, that his favorite Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, who played the leading role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, as Lisbeth Salander took the same level role in Dead Man Down. In this movie she plays Beatrice, a desperate, yet prudent and coldblooded woman on the warpath to accomplish the revenge by killing Alphonse Hoyt (Terrence Howard), a mob boss of the New York. On her way she meets Alphonse's guard, Victor (Colin Farrell), who seems to share her thoughts about the boss. She tries to blackmail and use him, but later, the truth reveals, Victor claims that Alphonse is responsible for the death of his wife and daughter. The engrossing desire for revenge unites Beatrice and Victor. Meanwhile, it becomes clear that there are other strong feelings between them, the feelings that have grown in the shadow of vengeance.

Brothers is a film of halftones, notes on the margins, where the beauty is in the Details. But, like many other such intricate work, the film seemed not over: cut off in mid-sentence. The brothers conflict ends with the simple phrase. Sam's internal conflict, the break of conscience after capture in Afghanistan is just honesty. From this point of view Brothers are perceived only a demonstration of acting, the spectacular, of course, but still remaining essentially "the casting". Psychological observations, the reliability of the details and fine texture of the characters are the wonderful elements of the movie, but really outstanding masterpieces are crowned with the point, not the dots.
