Despicable Me is the first 3D-animated Universal Studios movie, and certainly the best, what a hand in the former FOX's producer Chris Meledandri. A revolutionary solution for the animation to make the villain some sort of protagonist. Just say: a bold move, children may not appreciate. But, taking its mature, full of black humor movie, the creators do not forget the fact that the family audience bring a cash to box office - children and women will surely like pretty trio of orphans and a clutch of hilarious creatures named "minions" that are work for at Gru, as umpa-lumpy works for Willy Wonka. The movie features almost a spy story that represents the Gru as a sort of Lex Luther-like hero in the modern day form. Widely diluted by the psychoanalytic sketches about family values and the comic scenes involving the unbearably beautiful egg-headed minions Despicable Me will surely make you involved. And there is some sort of "bonus offer": 3D a ride on a roller coaster worth it to watch.

Megamind may become part of the film-schools' curriculum, because it proves two principles of animated film artisanship: First, as Roger Ebert emphasizes in his review of "Megamind," animation is "incomparably more suited for 3D than live action is."
