Charlie's Angels first came our way back in 1976 and was a huge hit! Now this "reboot" promises to be at least as successful as the original due to beauty and brilliant writing. Seems these three young, self confident, and self reliant women each have a rather shady past. One was a cat burglar, another was a dirty cop, and the third was booted out of the Marine Corps. But Charlie Townsend (Victor Garber), who just happens to be extremely wealthy and dedicated to fighting crime, helps these young ladies get back on the right track when he hires them to assist in solving crimes. As he directs them over the telephone we never actually see who Charlie is but just hear his voice. Abby Sampson (Rachel Taylor of Grey's Anatomy) is a thief who originally came from a wealthy family. Kate Prince (Annie Lionzeh formerly from General Hospital) is an ex cop who got involved with corruption while with the Miami PD. Then there is Gloria Morales (briefly played by Nadine Velazquez from My Name is Earl before the character is killed off). And once Gloria is killed in a car bombing she is replaced by Eve French (Minka Kelly most recently seen on Parenthood). Eve was close with Gloria and now she loves to race fast cars and chase down bad guys. Look for some well written scripts (Alfred Gough & Miles Millar) as well as plenty of fast action from these beauties!

In its first incarnation, "The A-Team" ran for five primetime years on NBC, extending George Peppard's career and launching Mr. T's. The producers sum-up the A-Team's premise, "Four Vietnam vets, framed for a crime they didn't commit, help the innocent while on the run from the military." Although the show has the look and feel of other seventies crime-drama hits from producer Steven J. Cannell, "The A-Team" aired between 1983 and 1986, when its inevitable associations with and allusions to VietNam Special Forces no longer provoked or disturbed anti-war viewers. Moreover, "The A-Team" piqued Americans' fierce devotion to underdogs, frequently reminding viewers how the lovable, wise-cracking misfits were framed"”fugitives from injustice, always aligning them with society's oppressed and disenfranchised, and often showing them "MacGivering" ingenious weapons from junkyard parts and duct tape"”the more insidious side of legendary American ingenuity. "The A-Team" persisted in flagrant political incorrectness, often disparaging women and indulging the audience's taste for gratuitous violence, redeemed primarily by its cartoonish quality. Producers reprised the concept for a 2010 feature film that sparked renewed interest in the original show, driving fans to Fancast, IMDd, and Amazon Video on Demand for their regular "A-Team" fixes.

S.W.A.T.

S.W.A.T. is a TV series that premiered in 2017. It follows the story of a Los Angeles S.W.A.T. team led by Hondo, a skilled and experienced officer. The team is composed of diverse members with unique skills that allow them to handle the most dangerous missions.

Trauma

"Trauma" survived almost a whole season in NBC's primetime line-up, but it ultimately became a victim of the Jay Leno scheduling brouhaha and its own penchant for taking itself much too seriously. The promotional materials for "Trauma" declared, "Executive producer Peter Berg delivers"¦the first high-octane medical drama series to live exclusively in the field where the real action is." The promo went on to describe "Trauma" as "an adrenaline shot to the heart," but viewers tended to characterize it as a sedative shot to higher consciousness, complaining that characters were stereotypic and plots were contrived. For all of its melodrama, "Trauma" did set valuable precedents for other, better-written medical dramas: The plots promoted paramedics and nurses over physicians as the true wonderworkers of emergency medicine, and the paramedic team included an openly gay character whom the writers treated with considerable insight and sensitivity. Held against TLC's "Life in the ER," "Trauma" betrayed its promise of realism, but it occasionally showed the promise of medical dramas focused on real caregivers instead of over-educated biochemists.

The Pacific

Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks already had saved Private Ryan and had shown the relatively tame exploits of a brotherly band in the Pacific Theater when they bravely took-on the challenge of recreating the bitter, brutal battles that made Pacific Islands household names in the darkest hours of World War II. Most Americans can trace the broad outlines of the Allies' liberation of Europe, but few can recall the highlights of American Marines' fierce struggles over "tiny specks of earth that we have never heard of." HBO's ten-part mini-series, "The Pacific," retrieves the war against Japan from the threshold of obscurity. Based on survivors' accounts of the battles, and rendered as vividly as the small screen will allow, "The Pacific" tracks three Marines' odysseys from Guadalcanal through Cape Gloucester to Peleliu and ultimately to the epic battle for Iwo Jima. Testifying to "The Pacific's" intense realism, the mini-series collected Emmy Awards for Art Direction, visual and sound effects. More amply testifying to "The Pacific's" overwhelming genius and power, however, the Television Academy awarded it the 2010 Emmy for Outstanding Mini-Series.
