"The Normal Heart" is a 2014 drama film directed by Ryan Murphy and based on the play of the same name by Larry Kramer. The movie is set in New York City in the 1980s, during the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The story follows a group of gay activists as they struggle to raise awareness about the disease and fight for better treatment and care for those affected.

Disgrace is the movie based on the novel by John Coetzee, a Nobel Prize winner. It contains neither morals (what morality can be deduced from such a name?), nor appeals for tolerance, and something like a Hidden of Michael Haneke. There are gaps between blacks and whites which can be found in each episode. The movie does neither overwhelm by political correctness, nor features the newfound equal rights. The tragedy, as the philosopher said, not in collision of right and wrong sides. The tragedy is that both sides are right. Africa and Europe, black and white, villages and cities, children, and fathers: the conflict is known to be eternal, the only question is: does it stands at the level of mutual recriminations and petty mischief like a broken windshield, or grow into genocide or civil war.

An incredibly perfect adaptation of a cultish in 50' Jack Kerouac's novel which became a huge landmark in its time, On The Road immerses us into the atmosphere of that paranoidal decade where any discrepancies of "normal" behavior was a suspect. There were the times of Second Red Scare incepted by McCarthyism which led the nations of USA and USSR to Cold War. In these ambiguous times a just-married couple, a young ex-prisoner Dean Moriarty (Neal Cassady) and his beautiful wife Marylou (Kristen Stewart) travel across the America in pursuit of new sensations. In their voyage they meet young writer Sal Paradise (Sam Riley) , who recently buried his father and who decides to break with the past and heads into the new future where he hopes to find the inspiration for book he writes. This autobiographical storyline which is prominently implemented in the book runs through the movie too. The fact is that Jack Kerouac was really in the crisis when he started the book, and he actually was traveling across the USA with his friends to find an inspiration for the book he later named On The Road, which became a basis for Walter Salles movie of the same name in 2012.

Although the actual characters and specific events are fictional, The Experiment movie is based on a real experiment with the same idea. The intention is to see if certain characteristics of both guards and prisoners cause the prison environment to be more abusive. They hire 26 to stay for two weeks in a mock prison and they are divided in two; the guards and the prisoners. Rules are set and they are told to abide by them, because if one messes up, they all suffer. That means no one gets paid. Suddenly things take a sudden turn for the worst, when the men playing the guards let the power go to their heads and the so-called prisoners start to fight back. What happens when the warden tries to stop the experiment that he started?

The story of The Place Beyond the Pines is revolving around two destinies: father's and son's. Luck Glanton, a stunt rider, got a surprise – his girlfriend, Romina, comes back with a newborn boy. Guess who is this little guy? Now, Luke has two more things to look after besides his bike. Although Luck has stolen 40 thousands only his future for Avery is clear: Luck will go to jail. But suddenly, the story takes an unexpected turn. Derek Cianfrance's The Place Beyond the Pines has got an impossible 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes just after the movie hit the screens of Toronto International Film Festival. The brilliant play of actors cast and powerful drama has received positive critical acclaim by most of the critics reviewed the movie. The main protagonist Luck Glanton is played by Ryan Gosling (Gangster Squad, The Ides of March, Drive), who managed to outdo himself in The Place Beyond the Pines. Eva Mendes (Girl in Progress, Fast Five, Last Night) also stars in the movie as Luck's girlfriend, Romina, and the chemistry between these two characters is on the verge of an incredible.
