"The Rookie" is a 1990 action crime film directed by Clint Eastwood. The movie tells the story of Nick Pulovski, a seasoned police detective who is paired with a young, inexperienced partner named David Ackerman. As they investigate a car theft ring led by a ruthless criminal named Strom, they must overcome their differences and work together to bring the criminals to justice.

Some futuristic story ideas seem to paint a rather bleak picture of how life may be later on and The Hunger Games is right up there with the premise that we could hold lotteries each year to select competitors from youngsters. Seems that North America has become a divided country and now there is only the Capitol which is broken down into 12 districts. Now called Panem, the former United States of America makes many crucial decisions by way of an annual fight to the death. There will be two from each of the 12 districts so the total of 24 participants must fight each other to the death and the citizens find this required viewing on live television!hen 16 year old Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence from Medium, The Bill Engvall Show) volunteers to take her younger sisters place, she and Peeta Mellark, who is her counterpart find they are up against far bigger and stronger competitors who have been trained for this type of battle all of their lives. Peeta is played by Josh Hutcherson (RV, The Kids Are All Right). Look for Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, and Donald Sutherland also in The Hunger Games.

War of the Worlds is a movie that was released in 2005, directed by Steven Spielberg, and starring Tom Cruise. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by H.G. Wells and follows the story of Ray Ferrier, a dockworker who is trying to protect his children from an alien invasion. The movie takes place in modern-day New Jersey, and the aliens have come to Earth in massive tripods, causing destruction and chaos wherever they go.

They have crossed over from television series to feature length movie. While some have been more successful than others, each can claim its own piece of the entertainment market.OX networks 21 Jump Street was a novel concept that involved teenage looking "cops" who could penetrate the high schools and search out drug dealers and others who attempt to corrupt teenagers back in the 80's and still do even today! Original stars from the 80's version of Jump Street included Johnny Depp, Richard Grieco, Peter DeLouise, and Holly Robinson Peete who each have since had successful careers. The new version stars Jonah Hill (Moneyball, Get Him to the Greek) as Schmidt and Channing Tatum (Haywire, The Dilemma) as Jenko. Both young men look younger than their years and with less than perfect reputations find they have the opportunity to make up for their past by becoming police officers and fighting perps that would lead teens into drugs and corruption. In other words just like the 80's version but with different players.

They do this even while slaying dragons and conquering the evil that was all around them back in those epic times. Times when even heroes occasionally had to put up with ne'er do well brothers who never seem to learn right from wrong. James Franco (as Prince Fabious) and Danny McBride (as weak willed brother Thadeous) pair up to defeat evil and save their realm, a fantasy land called Your Highness. When the Prince known as Fabious's bride is stolen he sets out to rescue her from her kidnappers and the ever lazy and useless Thadeous follows along to help. The future princess Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel) awaits her fate as the bumbling brothers strive to save the day.

Underworld: Awakening is the third sequel in an exciting series of films that began with Underworld itself. The latest is filmed in 3D for even more scares and heart stopping action. A vampire warrioress, Selene has escaped the prison she's been confined in and learns how to exist in a world filled with mortals who are now determined to kill every vampire they come across. The Vampire and Lycan clans have their hands full defending what they believe in against some very determined humans.
