The cinematographic version of adventures of a character named Solomon Kane, invented by Robert Howard (author of "Conan the Barbarian"), is a thick mix of the mud, blood, religious fanaticism and the ever-popular theme of zombies. Solomon Kane, unlike Van Helsing, who is here hinted at, basically, a cloak and hat, posed in a much more serious condition: he does not fight with single semi-comic characters like philoprogenitive Dracula or shrek-looking Mr. Hyde. He is opposed to evil as such, evil emanating from the enemy of the human race. This struggle involves bonfires, crucifixion, and the maximum concentration, and the religion, which naturally excludes all there worldly pleasures like love, joy, and throwing in witty remarks.

The new comic book adaptation titled "Jonah Hex" has a chance to become a new subspecies of a Hollywood blockbuster movie. Which, unlike similar to it, "Van Helsing" and "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", boasts at least that there is no monstrous budget spent only on the CGI and still do not understand that. All are attached to ordinary story about an unusual hero against the forces of evil money not spent in vain - despite the feeble mind of local writers, the picture and dynamics in this are pretty good. But the lack of a coherent plot and its quality does not allow "Jonah Hex" to become something more than fantasy gunman at a time. "Professional and extremely steep mercenary in the best tradition of Western fighters dealt with the bad guys, that everything else resorted to the resurrection of the dead. Well, just as some representatives of the genre on occult themes. Unlike "John Hex" is that the hero was a little maimed and disfigured on one side of the face attached to the character of Josh Brolin sort of grim fascination. Besides, he enjoys exotic weapons such as crossbows and slaughter that was particularly funny - two miniguns pinned to ride a horse! Fortunately, the creators focused on the rigidity of action scenes and even the history of the protagonist, which is interesting main story. In addition, there is John Malkovich and even Megan Fox, which, apparently, after her disagreement with Michael Bay, is now doomed to get stuck in the semi-thrash movies for a long time. Generally "Jonah Hex" is worth watching, but only because of pretty pictures and good overall performances.

The first part of the trilogy has been filmed and turned into a tetralogy about a former CIA officer, Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), who received two bullets in the back and then successfully lost his memory while carrying out his regular secret government operation.To some extent, The Bourne Identity can be considered as an alternative entertainment instead of James Bond. There are more authentic spy stories, that are so massively directed by motion. At the same time, the background of both series are different enough, because the characters of both movies are on opposite sides of the spy job. Finally Bourne looks obviously more serious, more intelligent, more severe and more consistent than Bond, instead of glossy, cine sophistication and indolence of the last one."

Life of Pi, directed by Ang Lee and based on the Booker award-winning novel of Yann Martel, which was rewritten by David Magee for the movie, telling as a story about Indian boy survived shipwreck alongside with hyena, orangutan, a wounded zebra and a beautiful White Bengal tiger. Yann Martel have explored and studied lots of facts about an ocean life to give credence to story. That's why, despite the unbelievable storyline, the situations and solutions described in the movie could really take place in real life. The boy named Pi was raised in Indian family owning a zoo. At one day they decided to migrate in Canada with all of their animals and boarded the Japanese freighter. Soon after the leaving India, a shipwreck has killed all the people and animals except for little boy and four animals including furious tiger. All of them take a shelter on one small lifeboat. The boy has managed to survive in this uneasy situation for 227 days. A strong will to overcome the deadly perils, a faith in life and inexhaustible optimism leaded him to long journey adrift by the Pacific Ocean. The journey fortunately ends when their boat reaches the Mexico coast. The tiger (named Richard Parker, by the way) escapes to the nearest jungle, leaving the boy alone. Years after, Japanese Maritime officers interviews Pi in order to investigate the circumstances and consequences of shipwreck. Pi tells him as story about his peregrination, but no one believes him. Pi, feeling the lack of confidence, tells them another version of his wandering, without animals, instead of which a sailor, a cook and his mother act. In this butcherly version a cook kills a sailor and Pi's mother to use them as bait and food. After he tells the second story, Pi asks Japanese officers which of two versions they like most. When he gets the answer, confirming that story with animals is better, Pi says "…and so it goes with God".

Predators movie of the 2010 is better than you can describe that! Perhaps, after "Avatar" released in late 2009 is the first movie that you want to watch and not look the clock, even when it ends. This is absolutely amazing. So if there is still someone else who is able to film it again it is necessary to make it in 3D to collect at least some cash. Action is taken in the best traditions of the genre. History is absolutely competent, not far-fetched. All genre standards are met, and it does not seem secondary. This is absolutely original, beautiful movie, which you can watch without knowing the history of the first "Predator". Although, it features many references to the first "Predator": A Memoir of Guatemala, the skull "outsiders" are present in the parking lot of hunters of prey. Movie definitely made with love to its roots and to the genre as well.

And once it comes to that, their fanged characters have become the part of common world. The witty and funny Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant just lifts the curtain in their world. But if the adventures of Bella Swan still evoke the angst on the out-of-puberty fans, after watching The Vampire's Assistant all those adults will have quite a dreamy smile.
