The Roommate's premise seems simple enough, and in light of Virginia Tech and elsewhere, maybe even plausible. The studio says The Roommate is, ""A psychological thriller about a deranged college freshman who becomes obsessed with her new roommate." If the girls take Psych 101, they may learn "deranged" is not appropriate clinical vocabulary for a girl who systematically and deliberately murders all of her roommate's friends and loved ones. To their credit, Leighton Meister who plays Rebecca, first-year serial killer, and Minka Kelly, who plays Sara, unwilling object of obsession, rise above primitive writing and production values that fall far short of the balance between sex and fear, redeeming the movie as much as any two gifted girls might. The Roommate may be more valuable as a promotional piece for Los Angeles Loyola Marymount University; and, over time, the film may be far notable as a showcase for 2011 college fashions than for its riveting representations of paranoid schizophrenia. Will those nasty blood stains wash out of that adorable Abercrombie skirt?

An incredibly perfect adaptation of a cultish in 50' Jack Kerouac's novel which became a huge landmark in its time, On The Road immerses us into the atmosphere of that paranoidal decade where any discrepancies of "normal" behavior was a suspect. In these ambiguous times a just-married couple, a young ex-prisoner Dean Moriarty (Neal Cassady) and his beautiful wife Marylou (Kristen Stewart) travel across the America in pursuit of new sensations. In their voyage they meet young writer Sal Paradise (Sam Riley) , who recently buried his father and who decides to break with the past and heads into the new future where he hopes to find the inspiration for book he writes. This autobiographical storyline which is prominently implemented in the book runs through the movie too. The fact is that Jack Kerouac was really in the crisis when he started the book, and he actually was traveling across the USA with his friends to find an inspiration for the book he later named On The Road, which became a basis for Walter Salles movie of the same name in 2012.

Few people know ins and outs of this historical meeting and Roger Michell's movie, Hyde Park on Hudson, unfolds the truth about it. It showcases lots of funny moments (just imagine facial expression of Royals, when Margaret announces hot dogs as main dish of the lunch), misapprehensions at the edge of fouls and lots of other objectionable situations FDR and Margaret masterly get out from. The right chemistry between the perfectly selected actors and actress make this movie definitely delicious and easy to watch. Franklin D. Roosevelt is portrayed by Bill Murray. Laura Linney plays Margaret Suckley while Olivia Williams plays Eleanor Roosevelt, FRD's wife. The Royal couple is played by Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth and Samuel West as King George VI.

Disgrace is the movie based on the novel by John Coetzee, a Nobel Prize winner. It contains neither morals (what morality can be deduced from such a name?), nor appeals for tolerance, and something like a Hidden of Michael Haneke. There are gaps between blacks and whites which can be found in each episode. The movie does neither overwhelm by political correctness, nor features the newfound equal rights. The tragedy, as the philosopher said, not in collision of right and wrong sides. The tragedy is that both sides are right. Africa and Europe, black and white, villages and cities, children, and fathers: the conflict is known to be eternal, the only question is: does it stands at the level of mutual recriminations and petty mischief like a broken windshield, or grow into genocide or civil war.

The Captain of Soviet Submarine, Dmitri Zubov (Ed Harris) stands between an uneasy choice: to herd with hellish KGB Officer (David Duchovny) dreaming to unleash nuclear war, or to turn against his country and save the world.
