As if anyone needs to be reminded, we love our fighting men (and women) and cannot wait for them to return home to us. This latest reality type show presented on the Lifetime Network could be considered a reality tearjerker because there are many crying children and adults involved. But these are all tears of joy because their loved ones have returned safely from active duty in the military. Whether they served in Afghanistan or Iraq, all they really want to do is return home safely and see their family again. Children miss their daddy or mommy and emotions run high in anticipation of their safe return. Now take those tender moments and put them onto the television screen before millions of viewers and you can see where this idea may get really personal. It's almost amazing how many of these veterans opt to put their family through the emotional intensity of their sudden arrival. After a hiatus of several years Fear Factor is back bigger and more daring than ever before. Reality shows are so popular today, mainly because they give viewers a glimpse into lives of real people who are living real events most of us seldom encounter (or would ever choose to). With a theme similar to the enormously popular Survivor, Fear Factor makes reality stars out of everyday people who can stand the test of some pretty dangerous stunts and dares when they compete against one another for a monetary reward. The prize of $50,000 is a big incentive and one that makes otherwise sensible folks take risks most of us are barely able to watch! Now there are four teams, each consisting of two people to a team who have been involved in some previous relationship with each other. Not being able to complete a stunt spells elimination and as host Joe Rogan says in a disclaimer "The stunts were supervised and designed by professionals! They're extremely dangerous & shouldn't be attempted by anyone at any time or anywhere!"

Swamp People is a reality TV series that first aired on the History Channel in 2010. The show follows several teams of alligator hunters who live in the swamps of Louisiana and hunt alligators for their meat and hides. The hunters use various techniques and tools to catch the alligators, including baited hooks, nets, and harpoons.

"Kourtney and Kim Take New York" chronicles the continuing adventures of the unmarried Kardashian sisters as they work their strange magic on adoring fans in the Big Apple. Like magnets among loose nails, the girls draw a crowd wherever they go, cameras stalking every step. Viewers enjoy more of the intense Kardashian programming they apparently craved and demanded. On any given day, E! empowers you to keep up with some kind of Kardashian in at least three ways during approximately twelve hours of non-stop first-letter-"K" programming. If it weren't for the success of Chelsea Handler, E! News, renegade women fleeing the Playboy mansion, and "Fashion Police," the Kardashians would fill entire programming days. Apropos of "reality" programming, "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" has neither plot nor script, but it has plenty of "situations." Kim, more or less determined to remain single for an entire year, nevertheless has no qualms about exciting hook-ups with assorted styles and flavours of eligible New York bachelors. Kourtney, ostensibly the more level-headed and businesslike of the two, apparently lives vicariously through Kim. Together, they allegedly run a business in-between pictorials, promotions, parties, and "Patron"-powered club appearances. Moralists might worry, as "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," they corrupt an entire generation of impressionable "˜tween girls, but studies show thirteen-year-old boys are the Kardashian sisters' biggest demographic.

The premise here is that Devin Grissom, lovely and lovable Southern gal from the state of Alabama needs to find a man who can win her heart, and please her family as well. A dedicated sports fan (especially football), Devin wants her future to include someone who can keep her happy forever just like her folks who were high school sweethearts. In this reality series she can choose from among 20 fellows, ten country guys and ten from the big city. The men compete in various challenges in hopes of winning some time with the Southern Belle, and at the end of each episode she tells one suitor goodbye for good. Among the competitors are: Adam Moyer grew up on a horse farm and compares the personalities of horses to women. Tribble Reese, a Birmingham, Alabama bartender and former college football player. Collin Varallo, southern gent and landscaper who prefers to court southern belles. Jason Maxim, Hollywood California entrepreneur with his own line of "Maxim" products to offer. Michael Dean, extremely health conscious personal trainer from Las Vegas who's looking for a down home southern gal to get serious about. Brian Wilson, French speaking music manager from LA who's mother who travelled with him and his siblings around the world.
