"Stargate Universe TV show" (aka SGU) premiered on Syfy in September, 2009, part of a larger Stargate franchise, which has a production history at least as complicated as the plots of all the Star Treks combined. The immediate success of "Stargate Universe" provides the living proof that the ComicCon crowd never tires of going boldly where no man has gone before. The situation is more than a little reminiscent of "Battlestar Gallactica," but edgier and richer in good one-liners. This time, a group of intrepid explorers whose own ship has been disabled boards a crewless ship permanently locked on cruise control and set to go to the ends of the universe. Because they have no hope of returning to Earth, the eclectic crew of scientists, soldiers, and civilians must figure out how they will survive by their wits and the ship's tools as they float around the edges of the galaxy. Of course, the struggle for survival brings out the noblest qualities in the heroes, the vilest qualities in the villains, and hundreds of opportunities for uber-cool special effects.

The premise of Battlestar Galactica has become an entire franchise due to the popularity of the concept. Beginning back in 1978, Glen A. Larson created an ongoing joy for sci fi lovers with his original Battlestar Galactica series that aired on TV screens everywhere. Spawning many sequels over the years, including Caprica and the latest series which began its run in 2004, humans now live on a group of distant planets called the Twelve Colonies. Wars have gone on for decades on these planets against the Cylons, a group of cybernatics who plan to wipe out the human race altogether. Cylons offer a haven of peace and security but their intentions turn out to be false and deadly. Colonial starships carry the humans away but when attacked by the Cylons, find they are not able to compete. Commander Adama (played by Edward James Olmos of Miami Vice, Stand and Deliver fame) is the leader who takes the fugitive fleet of human survivors on a hunt for the mysterious 13th colony better known as planet Earth. Fun and often exciting drama with some great special effects and a gigantic and great looking spaceship called the Battlestar Galactica.

This science fiction series tell us stories about people who live ordinary lives until they discover they have super human abilities that set them apart from the rest of us. How and when they make use of their powers makes for excellent television and when the stories are well written and acted they become popular. The show became so popular it spawned an entire industry based on the show's premise. Action figures, games, clothing, magazines, a book, and plenty of other merchandise are the result of Heroes. The television show Heroes is laid out similarly to comic book style, short and with multiple episodes that take up where the previous one left off. Whether a hero straight out of the comics or reluctant adventurer, the idea of becoming special and elevated from the common man often makes for intriguing viewing. Story lines follow what might happen when that normal person is endowed with special prowess. What one man may choose to do with the newfound ability of super human strength may not equal another's plan at all but that's how this program makes for an entertaining study of human nature.

Creators and critics refer to "Caprica TV show" as a spin-off from the classic "Battlestar Gallactica," but the allusion deceives devoted viewers of the old space drama, and it flies right over the heads of the new show's most enthusiastic viewers"”adolescent boys obsessed with all things technological. Strictly speaking, "Caprica" is a prequel to the final struggle for survival dramatized in "Battlestar Gallactica": The stories are set approximately sixty years before the Cylons began plotting to destroy humanity, and it focuses on a tech-crazy world drunk on its own runaway success. The stories dramatize dangerous, self-destructive tendencies in people so completely self-absorbed and so thoroughly addicted to their gadgets they become oblivious to the world that lives beyond their arms' reach, palpable instead of digitized. Characteristic of the best science fiction writers, "Caprica's" crew subtly allegorizes the serious ethical ramifications of post-modern advances in artificial intelligence and robotics. In the United States, the SyFy channel put "Caprica TV show" on hiatus late in 2010, holding back just a few new episodes for first broadcast sometime early in 2011. Despite the show's uncertain American future, the production team continued making new episodes for air in the United Kingdom and Canada.

"His Dark Materials" is a TV series based on a trilogy of books by Philip Pullman. It is set in a parallel universe where humans have animal companions called daemons, and the story follows the adventures of a young girl named Lyra who is searching for her missing friend. Along the way, she discovers a sinister plot involving a mysterious substance called "dust," and becomes embroiled in a power struggle between different factions who seek to control it.

My Hero Academia is a Japanese manga series that has been adapted into an anime. It follows the story of a boy named Izuku Midoriya, who lives in a world where almost everyone has superpowers known as "Quirks." Unfortunately, Izuku is one of the rare people born without a Quirk, which means he cannot become a hero like his idol, All Might. Despite this setback, Izuku remains determined to become a hero, and his perseverance catches the attention of All Might, who decides to train him.
